We are currently seeking highly motivated hospitality professionals for the position of Restaurant / Banquet Manager to join our team at the beautiful Toll House Hotel.

Position Description

The Restaurant / Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a restaurant. Your duties will include hiring and training restaurant staff, following company policies, speaking with diners to address concerns or solve problems, and creating work schedules for restaurant staff.

  • Manages and trains all front of a house personnel (bartenders, servers, host, support personnel)
  • Ensures all guest conflicts are met with resolutions prior to completion of the dining experience 
  • Schedules all front of house team members
  • Oversees and manages breakfast, lunch, and dinner services
  • Exceptional and consistent communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Organized and able to manage a diversity of tasks and communications focused on both team and guests alike.
  • Hospitality and / or customer facing sales experience is a major plus.
  • Enjoys taking a leadership role.
  • An enduring attention to detail combined with an understanding that subtleties and semantics are critically impactful to our process.
  • A socially savvy and possibly sometimes witty approach to interpersonal relations with colleagues, stakeholders and guests alike.
  • A forward-thinking attitude that embraces change and growth as the baseline of this company’s trajectory toward market leadership and renowned excellence in both execution and profitability.
  • Excellent organizational and project management techniques.
  • Proficient in the use of and in all manners of information technology and tools.

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
  • Ability to understand and comply with proper food preparation, cooking, handling and storage. 
  • Ability to understand and comply with kitchen sanitation, safety and equipment usage.
  • Consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient. 
  • Ability to satisfy the legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction.

Education and Experience

  • High school education
  • One or more years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
