Equipment Operator - Spicer's Marina

Position Description

The Equipment Operator is responsible for the movement of boats including hauling, launching, and storage. Reporting to the General Manager and working alongside other teammates, they will accomplish tasks safely and efficiently. The purpose of this role is to operate marina equipment safely, while providing excellent customer service to all guests. This role will support Spicer's Marina in operating with efficiency by always keeping safety in mind. A successful equipment operator will be very energetic, have great attention to detail, be self-motivated, and be a strong entrepreneurial leader.

  • Operate marina equipment including but not limited to marine forklifts and travel lifts.
  • Use equipment to move vessels in and out of water and to designated workspace/storage.
  • Ensure performance is within company standards.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment to ensure operation.
  • Handle employee/customer service issues
  • Landscaping maintenance and handyman duties for basic repairs

All other duties perform all other duties as assigned, including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.

Technical and Physical Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Operators experience (forklift, travel lift, payloader, roll-off)
  • Travel Lift/Boat Forklift operation experience and certification is a major plus!
  • Equipment maintenance experience
  • Class A, B, and/or C License
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work all shifts and weekends when needed.
