The Town of Salem, NH seeks Part-Time (24 hours/week) Human Services Director Responsible for the administration of the Town Welfare Program and the monitoring of Town-funded outside Human Services. Primary responsibilities include budget preparation, administration, case management, planning, community organizing, and liaising and coordination with allied departments/agencies.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and at least two (2) years’ experience in the welfare, human services or related field, or other equivalent education and experience. ability to perform case management in sensitive situations; ability to defuse and resolve stressful situations; must be able to communicate clearly and effectively under stressful circumstances. Proven ability to use sound judgment and defend decisions/positions, conflict resolution skills essential. A thorough understanding and knowledge of N.H. welfare systems, applicable RSAs, ordinances, guidelines and laws is required.

Starting annual pay $41,450.88 - $55,569.92(As of April 1st annual salary $42,454.40 - $56,959.36) with holidays and paid time off benefits. Pre-employment testing will include educational and criminal background.
