Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance and continuing DOT (FMCSA) testing process with current employees. Responsible to ensure all DOT (FMCSA) new hire paperwork is completed prior to start date.
Responds to routine inquiries from Department Directors, employees and outside entities regarding benefits, personnel records, policies and procedures.
Participates in discussions related to modifications of guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices. Participates in research and analysis on a wide variety of human resource areas to include salary, absenteeism, turnover rates, staffing levels, hiring patterns, and other human resource trends.
May provide a variety of reports, memoranda, and articles for the purpose of providing information on various HR issues to different audiences.
Provides routine guidance and input on business unit structures, workforce planning and succession planning.
May serve as staff liaison on various committees.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
Performs various administrative support functions, including establishing and maintaining complex and confidential personnel files and material; compiling and composing information for various periodic reports, statistical data, preparing reference material, responding to employee requests, working on organizational initiatives and assisting with and supporting establishing project goals and objectives, project steps and timelines and overseeing/carrying out to completion.
Responsible for accurate and timely data input as required to include all types of employment‑related information.
Work supports various programs and fosters positive work relationships in an environment of credibility and trust.
Minimum Qualifications:
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or related fieldExperience: Three (3) or more years' of progressively responsible experience in the area of human resources; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceLicenses and/or Certifications Required:
