In this role, you'll be the MVP overseeing youth and adult sports leagues, camps, special events, tournaments, and facility rentals. We're on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals at least 18 years old who have a knack for leadership, communication, and a passion for the game.

This is a seasonal, non-benefited position, up to 40 hours a week, with a maximum of 999 hours. 

• Provides on-site supervision of youth and adult sports leagues and events;
• Manages scorekeepers and field usage during athletic games, rentals, and events;
• Assists with leading baseball/softball camps;
• Handles basic accounting for ticket sales;
• Serves as the go-to person for challenging situations and disputes;
• Opens, sets up, and closes athletic and park facilities;
• Keeps score for adult and youth sports leagues;
• Ensures accuracy in accident and incident report forms;
• Collects and organizes paperwork related to results, accidents, and incidents;
• Communicates effectively with staff, booking agents, and emergency personnel;
• Enforces Cary policies with a friendly touch;
• Provides routine information on departmental policies, procedures, and services;
• Takes on other tasks as needed.

Considerable knowledge of baseball and softball; ability to build and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and the community; strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Education and Experience
Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma/GED.
Prefers some supervisory experience in community or group recreation activities in athletics.
Prefers CPR/First Aid Certification.
Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.Requires the physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.Conditions of EmploymentRequires possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Requires drug testing and background check (which may include criminal check, education verification and credit history review) prior to employment.
