Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to support an Army Aviation Project Office supporting the Mission Systems Architecture (MSA) development efforts and software development.

Responsibilities: 

• Coordinate, support, and maintain engineering cognizance on S&T efforts related to MSA and software that may transition to the project office.
• Provide support to MSA working group to develop/ refine standards and processes needed in the development of an architecture and leverage efforts and potential opportunities that are presented by legacy platforms.
• Provide support in the management of SBIRs related to MSA.
• Support MBSE modeling associated with MSA architectures.
• Support development of milestone documentation related to MSA and software in preparation for Milestone A
• Provide input into development and documentation of technical contract requirements.
• Support assessments of program/ project technical risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Provide senior-level support to the Tech Chief as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline and 15 years’ experience in software development for aviation systems
• Experience with SAE ARP 4754/4761 and DO-178C certification.
• Experience with agile development.
• Experience in modular design, interface management, and open systems architecture.
• Experience with software development/ verification tools to include integration testing in system integration labs (SILs)
• Knowledge of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) technical standard
• Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML/ UML
• Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)
• Knowledge of contract requirements and documents (Systems Engineering Plans, Performance Work Statements, etc.)

• Ability to support complex engineering tasks, work effectively with others, and support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to complete high-priority projects under strict time constraints.
• Strong oral and written skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Magic Draw, DOORS (or other traceability tools), and available SE tools
• Secret clearance required.
