Top Tier Reps is Hiring a Structural Engineer Near Chicago, IL
Our client is an established, growing structural engineering firm working in Chicago. We work closely with architects, owners, contractors and other disciplines on a variety of project types from interior buildouts to large midrise structures.
Work includes the comprehensive structural design of new buildings, renovations and additions to existing construction, as well as structural inspections and assessment reports. We work in all structural mediums including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
Responsibilities include:
- Assistance in the preparation of construction documents including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Supervised structural analysis and design using computer software and hand calculations.
- Construction administration and field observation alongside structural engineer of record.
- Working closely with architectural firms in an integrated design process.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university program (Masters degree preferred)
- Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting and experience in Revit with the ability to set up plans and detail sheets, incorporate markups, and manage project structural drawings.
- Experience in steel and concrete design, with wood and masonry design a plus.
- Familiarity with mixed use development and existing structures a plus.
- Working knowledge of various engineering software such Risa 3D, Tekla Tedds, RAM, SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to engage in a variety of projects and tasks, and to learn new skills on active projects
- Good communications skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
