This student will work closely with our talented and renowned engineers to find creative solutions to various challenges and work on real-world projects in a professional setting.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform analysis and design of structural systems for a variety of building types using various building codes.Work in all aspects of building structures or building envelope systems, focusing on steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, glass, and aluminum material systems.Calculate and analyze loads (e.g., dead loads, live loads, wind loads) to assist project teams with determining structure strength and stability requirements.Review of existing structures to document as-built construction details.Visit construction sites to observe the progress and quality of the structural drawings. Assist the project team with solutions to site issues that may arise.Prepare technical reports and documentation to communicate engineering findings, analysis, and recommendations to project stakeholders.Work with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, to achieve project goals and solve technical challenges.Maintain accurate records and documentation of design specifications, calculations, and solutions implemented on behalf of the project team.Use CAD/ BIM software to create detailed structural drawings and plans for construction projects.Required EducationBachelor's degree in structural/civil/architectural engineering. A master's degree is preferred.Required courses include structural analysis and structural design.An EIT/FE certificate is preferred but not required.Qualifications and OtherQualificationsMust have experience with AutoCAD (Revit is preferred but not required)Fluent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with one or more computer programs RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, Mathcad, Tedds, RAM Frame, Enercalc, Rhino, SketchUp, or Grasshopper is preferred.Other RequirementsAbility to lift to 50 lbs.Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.Able to ride suspended scaffolding and work from heights desired.#J-18808-Ljbffr
