Lin International as a Senior Structural Engineer.Job DescriptionSUMMARYThe Structural Engineer will perform and oversee structural design and analysis for bridge and transportation related structures in accordance with design specifications and guidelines and manage production of contract documents including plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates. Reviews structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines. Writes/edits structural specifications, selects procedures and materials, and completes necessary calculations. Organizes and participates in agency coordination and public involvement and outreach. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Coordinates the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases of a project. • Establishes meetings and participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. • Conducts design development and contract document work sessions in conjunction with Project Manager and other disciplines. • Responsible for workload coordination through design development and construction document phases to complete the documents on schedule. • Coordinates with affected disciplines and assists with any addendum, requests for information, change proposal requests and change orders and is responsible to incorporate agreed upon changes into the project documents.• Responsible for subconsultant and client liaison, public involvement and outreach.• Responsible for project correspondence and coordination of contract documents.• Training and oversight of staff engineers.• Coordinates and participates in structural inspections and evaluations.• Additional related assignments.QualificationsThis position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is preferred), a P.E. License and Illinois S.E. license. Requirements include 10 or more years structural design experience with bridges and transit related projects. Knowledge of Illinois DOT policies and procedures preferred.
