TJL Industries Inc is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Pearland, TX

Position Summary

The HR Generalist will work closely with the Human Resources Director and Human Resources Manager, will play a pivotal role in assisting with various HR functions. Will perform HR duties in all the following functional areas: Recruiting, New Hire Orientation and Onboarding, Performance Appraisals, Payroll and Benefits Administration, and various Team Member Engagement Activity Planning. This position is a direct service link to all team members to ensure prompt, efficient, and courteous response to all issues.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Recruiting, Staffing and Retention

Administer the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and onboarding new team members.

Administer and coordinate new hire training.

Conduct training for new Team Members on Paychex Flex.

Assign Annual Appraisal for Exempt and Non-Exempt Team Members.

Coordinate monthly employee relations activities.

Assists with creating, implementing, and maintaining a Team Member communication.

Promote use of HR programs to create an efficient workplace.

Exhibits and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors.

Record Keeping

Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.

Regular upkeep and audits to Employee files and records.

Update and maintain employee records in HRIS system, for all changes including new hires, promotions and terminations.

Maintains electronic Team Member personnel files (acknowledgement forms) and I-9 documentation.

Payroll and Benefits

Audit timesheets and interact with supervisors as required to verify data and resolve discrepancies.

Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely.

Work on special payroll projects as needed.

Make adjustments in pay for raises, promotions and bonuses.

Process new hires, terminations, garnishments, deductions, withholdings, as necessary.

Assist with coordination of site Annual Healthy Physicals and Flu Shot Clinic.

Assist with Open Enrollment including communication, Team Member meetings and completion.

HR Policy Administration

Assists with communications on Human Resources policies at the facility level.

Administer and communicates the Team Member Handbook.

Participates in HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.

Displays a positive attitude toward safety, works safely and follows all the company’s safety policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

BS degree or equivalent education and experience.

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Generalist.

Experience with processing payroll and benefits administration. (Required)

Experience with payroll larger than 400 employees.

Three years processing payroll, prior experience with Paychex a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities

Detail oriented with excellent organization skills.

Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Products.

Proficient with or ability to quickly learn payroll software,

Ability to multitask, organize priorities, meet tight deadlines and work independently.

Computer skills including data entry, communication tools, human resource software and data processing.

Tactful, diplomatic, confidential and the highest level of integrity.

Physical Requirements

100% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, walking, and viewing.
