Part Time Employment approximately 20 hours weekly first shift
$15-17 hourly pay

- Prepare food daily according to menu
- Read, measure, weigh recipes to produce correct portions
- Serve food with all needed trays, buckets, dishes, utensils and correct serving spoons
- Collect porting carts and clean between use
- Clean and inspect work stations to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
- Compost, recycle and take out all waste daily / clean receptacle as needed
- Practice proper kitchen hygiene when cooking and serving food
- Clean, cut and cook fruits and vegetables, legumes and grains
- Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils and other cooking equipment to keep work space and kitchen clean and bacteria free.
- Track morning and evening temperatures of fridge and freezer
- Take inventory of that days ingredients and report to chef with needs
- Problem solve and report to chef and or directors and owners when needed
- Understand the use of equipment and its regular mainenance
- Communicate with teachers during meal times to assist with the meal rhythms and needs
- Regularly address safety concerns.
- Grow and tend to the onsite gardens to align with menu
- Smell and taste food often
- Proactive Knife skill and prep efficiency
- Follow opening and or closing procedures
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Must be able to communicate and following given directions via Chef
- Must be able to communicate with the director and owners through written and oral modes.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in diverse situations.
- Must be able to constantly be moving about in a kitchen, bending, reaching and lifting items (such as 50lb. Bags of grains and oats).
- Must be able to detect taste and smell temperatures and flavors of served food.
- Must be able to use technology such as a computer, cell phone or tablet to enter information, check Homebase and communicate with the team
