The Role: 

TIME is seeking an entrepreneuring reporter to research and report on the world's most influential people, companies, and ideas for our special projects and lists, including the TIME100, TIME100 Most Influential Companies, TIME Best Inventions, and more. This dynamic role demands resourceful reporting skills, experience curating well-balanced editorial projects, organizational skills, and a commitment to journalistic excellence.

Responsibilities: 

• Monitor news for the biggest stories both globally and locally in specific regions and sectors
• Dive into new topic areas and develop expertise
• Correspond with TIME's network of writers and reporters
• Write compelling, succinct copy
• Report profiles for franchise initiatives such as the TIME100 Impact Awards and Closers
• Fact-check copy submitted by external writers to ensure accuracy
• Contribute to list functions, including demographic research, sending notifications, and other administrative tasks
• Report at TIME events as needed
• Promote and abide by our commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion 

Qualifications: 

• 3-5 years of reporting and writing experience
• Knowledge and experience reporting on business, tech, and/or climate sectors is a plus
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with a focus on clarity, brevity, and accuracy.
• Strong interviewing and research skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
• Enthusiastic about innovation, positive-change and collaboration.

This is a hybrid role. Eligible candidates for the role must be within a commutable distance of TIME’s New York City office upon hire and may be expected to be physically present as needed (typically 3 days/week).
