We are currently seeking a Full-time Mental Health Specialist (7:00 am. - 7:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. - 7:00 am. The ideal Mental Health Specialist candidate will have previous experience working in an inpatient psychiatric unit and can use proper judgement in fast-paced environment.
The responsibilities of the Mental Health Specialist include, but are not limited to:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Monitor patient vitals
- Facilitate therapeutic CBT group sessions
- Provide crisis intervention
- Stabilize and redirect patients
- 15 minute rounding throughout the unit to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
- Assure compliance with applicable laws pertaining to behavior health in-patient care
- Maintain all patient documentation
- Includes assisting patients in Activities of Daily Living (bathing, shaving, toileting, etc.)
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology preferred
- 1 year of experience working in an acute psychiatric setting
- CPI trained and certified
- CPR certified
- Working knowledge of general and psycho-education group therapy, therapeutic relationships, and age specific growth and development
