Thompson Hospitality is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will provide support to the accounting department, assisting with various tasks.

• Processing invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders accurately and efficiently
• Assisting in accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
• Reconciling bank statements and credit card transactions
• Maintaining accurate and organized financial records
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close procedures
• Generating financial reports as required
• Assisting with payroll processing
• Collaborating with team members to support overall department goals
• Adhering to company policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with accounting principles

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Previous experience (2 years) in an accounting or finance role preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices

Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

You must have tenacity, excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a self-starter with the ability to work with little to no direction and take initiative.
