My client, a private organization in the technology sector with both government and commercial clients and revenues exceeding $2B annually is seeking a VP of Accounting for their North American HQ. As the Vice President of Accounting, you will play a critical role in leading and overseeing all accounting operations within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the company's financial activities comply with accounting standards and regulations. This includes managing the month-end financial processes, monitoring budgets, participating in financial negotiations with external partners, and facilitating successful audits.Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements.Create month-end journal entries, conduct bank reconciliations, review trial balance, and reconcile month-end balance sheets, along with other month-end reports.Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.Develop monthly management reports, including capital and operating grant reconciliations and forecasts.Assist Project Heads in crafting budgets.Record and analyze revenues and expenses accurately and appropriately.Provide analysis and recommendations on business operations, including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future financial forecasts to the Manager Finance.Manage the Accounts Payable/Receivables function, including Payroll and all revenue streams.Supervise the procurement function and review payment vouchers and supporting documents.Participate in annual budget preparation and collaborate with Heads of Departments in reviewing forecasts and budgets.Conduct budget comparisons for actual vs. budgeted and year-to-date variances.Maintain proper inventory and Fixed Assets register and participate in annual board of surveys to conduct full asset verifications.Analyze CAPEX payments, taxes, and dividends.Provide monthly updates on debtors' aging and debt recovery status.Assist in the preparation of IFRS standard annual statutory Financial Reports and local statutory and external audits, including year-end adjustments.Maintain proper documentation related to areas of responsibility for audit purposes.Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met both internally and externally.Develop business cases for new investment opportunities and prepare feasibility reports, including cost-benefit analyses.Assist in compiling the annual work plan, business plan, and strategic plan.Please apply directly to this posting or contact Lee Chernett, VP at Robert Half Finance & Accounting, on LinkedIn or by calling 571.297.9074 with questions.
