Leidos National Security Sector has an opening for a Secure Logistics and Operations (SLO) Business Area Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our team in Reston, VA. The SLO Business Area provides logistics support to core DOD customers through the use of people and technology to provide resilient logistics. It also provides mission support for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) data processing, sensor management and optimization, and C2 solutions. 

The Business Area CTO will be responsible for leading the ideation and development of innovative and differentiating technical and engineering solutions that support the Business Area’s business strategy. The CTO will proactively establish relationships and meet with current and potential customers to demonstrate the company's credentials at solving problems with technically differentiated solutions. The CTO will collaborate with line managers and business development & strategy leaders to drive solutions into priority captures, proposals, and major programs. The CTO will work as an active member of Leidos’ enterprise technology community, including other Sectors, the corporate technology accelerators, and the Leidos Innovation Center (LInC). The CTO will pull technology from external sources and from across the Leidos enterprise for deployment in differentiated National Security solutions. The CTO will lead the development of the business area’s internal research and development (IR&D) portfolio and provide guidance to and management oversight of all IR&D projects. The CTO will actively participate in the definition and implementation of the long-term technology strategy aligned to the business area, sector, and corporate technology strategy and goals.

Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Business Area CTO include closely partnering with Business Area management to ensure the Business Area’s technology strategy is aligned with the organization's strategic plan and is reflected in the business development plans. The CTO will consult with business leadership on potential solutions to customer requirements. The CTO will also be an active participant in the capture process to include writing and reviewing proposal material and coaching solution architects on bringing differentiated solutions to capture efforts including early customer engagements. The CTO will seek partnerships with strategic suppliers, renowned universities, and research institutions to increase learning opportunities, sponsor research projects that take the business area solutions to the next level and, where possible, showcase developing technology both internally and externally. The CTO will establish relationships with counterparts throughout Leidos and serve as the business area’s chief technical collaborator with other Leidos organizations. The CTO will be responsible for the development and mentoring of a set of mid to senior level technical staff.

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree and 15 - 20 in a Technology, Engineering or Software field
•Prior technical leadership roles within organizations larger than $100M annual revenue
•Experience leading technical strategy for portfolios of programs, proposals and captures for national security
•Experience with applications of artificial intelligence/machine learning or predictive analytics in national security 
•Secret Clearance (Top Secret Clearance preferred) and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
•Location: Leidos Headquarters, Reston VA
•25% Travel required.

Preferred Qualifications
•Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a Technology, Engineering or Software field, and be a recognized technology leader (or equivalent experience)
•Experience with technologies applicable to resilient and contested logistics, data sharing in a multi-level security environment, and federated command and control.
•Domain expertise in Command and Control (C2) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) data processing and software solutions for the Department of Defense (DOD) 
•Experience with DOD systems engineering, information assurance, and modern software development capabilities such as DevSecOps, data mesh, infrastructure as code, container management, and cloud
•Experience working with DLA, military service, or other US Federal Government Agency logistics organizations
•Large acquisition program experience ($500M )
•Significant experience supporting capture activities to include chairing/participating in Business Opportunity Gate Reviews, writing specific sections of proposals, providing preliminary technical guidance for solutions, and task cost estimation.
•Experience with performance management and best practices in the Aerospace & Defense industry
•A well-developed sense of strategy and the ability to communicate and inspire others to follow.
