Job Specific Duties

  • Ingredient Preparation: This involves chopping, slicing, dicing, and preparing various ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and herbs according to the recipes provided.
  • Measuring Ingredients: Accurately measuring and portioning ingredients as per the recipes or chef's instructions.
  • Stocking and Organizing: Ensuring that all necessary ingredients are stocked and readily available for the cooking staff. This might involve keeping track of inventory and notifying the kitchen manager or chef when supplies are running low.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping workstations, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized according to food safety standards. This includes washing, sanitizing, and storing kitchen tools and equipment properly.
  • Following Recipes: Following recipes and instructions provided by the chef or kitchen manager accurately to maintain consistency and quality in the dishes prepared.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with other members of the kitchen staff, including chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service.
  • Adaptability: Being adaptable and able to handle various tasks as needed in a fast-paced kitchen 

What you will need

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment or customer service is preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and skill in safely and effectively operating standard foodservice equipment.
  • Adaptability and strong customer service skills.
  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card
  • Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
  • Ability to provide documents for work authorization. We utilize E-Verify, an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma/GED

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Requires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting, carrying trays, and boxes, up to 25 pounds. Pushing/Pulling Food Hot Boxes up to 50 pounds. Bending and stooping for access to carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visual acuity for reading menus, labels, and directions. Hearing ability to respond to verbal communications. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Taste and Smell to assess food quality, freshness, and adherence to dietary requirements. Ability to distinguish colors for food presentation.
