We’re looking for hosts to join the opening team at Theodora! We will start training all Front of House employees between the 19th and 23rd of January. Full available is required between 1/19 and 1/31.

Chef/owner Tomer Blechman of the popular Mediterranean restaurant Miss Ada in Fort Greene and its sister concept Nili in Carroll Gardens opens his newest concept, Theodora with co-owner Gerardo Estevez. Theodora is a progression of Miss Ada, taking the community Tomer built. At the heart of Theodora is an inviting open kitchen focusing on fresh and dry-aged seafood and open-fire cooking.

The host team are the first faces our guests see when they arrive, and the last they see when they leave. The host team will work with our head maitre’d to ensure we offer a vibrant and positive welcome to our guests. This is a great role for a problem solver who enjoys working with a team, as the host team will work collaboratively to fine tune our systems for the door over the course of the first two months.

There are also opportunities for a cross trained role of hosting and bussing for the right candidate with experience in both roles.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in a full service restaurant
• Experience working with Resy
• Full and flexible availability for December and January
• A long-term mindset towards restaurant work

Physical Requirements:

• Be able to stand for extended periods of time [over 7 hours]
• Be able to lift and carry 50 pounds steadily 
• Be comfortable bending, sitting, walking extended distances including up and down flights of stairs, and moving. 
• Be comfortable working in outdoor conditions including heat and cold
