Description

POSITION OVERVIEW


The position of Annual Giving Manager is integral to the success of Westminster’s annual giving program, The Westminster Fund, which generates $5 million in philanthropic support for the Westminster student experience. In close partnership with the Director of Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Manager provides support to The Westminster Fund’s more than 200 alumni and parent volunteers, and implements strategies associated with the program’s volunteer management system and multi-channeled fundraising campaigns.

Position Status: Salaried, exempt, full-time, regular, 12-month position.

Hours of Work: Monday through Friday; core hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Eligible for Remote Work Arrangement.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Works collaboratively with the Annual Giving team and members of the Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA) to execute strategies to increase philanthropic support, broaden donor participation, and achieve aspirational goals for the annual Westminster Fund.
  • Manages volunteer recruitment of Westminster Fund Class Agents (Alumni Giving Campaign) and Class Callers (Parent Giving Campaign), and supports fundraising volunteer requests and needs.
  • Provides guidance, training, and ongoing support to engage and inspire volunteers. In partnership with the Annual Giving team, develop presentations and conduct trainings to enhance the volunteer experience and ensure volunteer success.
  • Manages the annual fund’s Social Fundraising Campaigns. Execute strategies that communicate the impact of The Westminster Fund and increase volunteer retention and participation. Oversee volunteer outreach progress, and identify and implement strategy redirections as necessary.
  • In partnership with the Advancement Operations team, oversees implementation and maintenance of the volunteer management system for all fundraising volunteers.
  • Becomes and serves as the OIA’s volunteer management system power user. Manage the volunteer portal, create and update volunteer resources and email templates, conduct volunteer trainings, and provide volunteer support as needed. Troubleshoot issues with the vendor. In partnership with OIA’s Advancement Operations team, stay abreast of system enhancements and implement features as appropriate.
  • In partnership with the Director of Annual Giving and the Advancement Writer, assists in the development of giving messages, solicitations, and multi-channel annual fund communications, including emails, letters, newsletters, website updates, etc.
  • Attends various school events to connect with Westminster Fund constituents.
  • Participates in planning and staffing for Westminster Fund volunteer events (ex. kick-offs, phonathons, Westminster Fund Day, volunteer appreciation, virtual events, etc.).
  • Works with the Annual Giving Team to achieve overall Westminster Fund dollar and participation goals, providing support to projects as needed.
  • Embraces the mission and strategic priorities of Westminster.
  • Upholds and models OIA’s core values (Impact, Above and Beyond, Authenticity, Quest for Knowledge, Optimism, and Inclusivity) and operating principles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in non-profit or educational fundraising, preferably in an annual giving position.
  • Excellent technical skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and Google tools. Knowledge and experience with a Mac environment preferred.
  • Prior database and project management software experience, Raiser’s Edge and Asana preferred.
  • Growth mindset with active engagement in individual and departmental professional development and best practices.
  • Polished oral, written, telephone, and e-mail communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and take initiative to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive and fluid environment with attention to detail and accuracy; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT


While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; and engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.

TRAVEL


Travel is primarily local during the regular business day. Overnight and out-of-area travel may also be required.
