The Town of Parker is Hiring a Guest Services Representative (PT) Near Location Varies, CO

Under general supervision, this position provides front line customer service duties for recreational facilities, and performs a variety of customer service, clerical, and janitorial duties.
Currently needing to hire for the following locations:
  • H2O'Brien Pool
  • Salisbury Park
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Performs front line customer service and concession duties at the following Recreation Facilities (including but not limited to):
    • Parker Fieldhouse
    • Parker Recreation Center 
    • Discovery Park Ice Trail 
    • H2O'Brien Pool 
    • Salisbury Park
 
  • Utilizes resources to effectively serve customers and remedy complaints or conflicts in a professional manner.
 
  • Performs general receptionist duties, which may include facility tours.
 
  • Assists patrons with membership related inquiries which may include class registration, scheduling, and rentals.
 
  • Performs basic cash handling duties. Adheres to the Cash Handling Policy & Procedure.
 
  • Assists in the education and enforcement of the Recreation Facility Policies and Procedures. 
 
  • Prepares food; cleans concession equipment to meet the Health Department Standards.
 
  • Assists with ensuring the assigned facility, venues, and building/site equipment is in proper working order to maintain safe conditions for patrons and staff.
 
  • Assists with and/or performs facility set ups and tear downs for various programs and rentals. 
 
  • Maintains various inventories including but not limited to general office supplies, pro-shop merchandise, equipment rentals, and concession supplies.
 
  • Performs general opening and closing procedures as assigned. 
 
  • Alerts appropriate staff to emergency situations and/or maintenance concerns. 
 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.

Must be 16 years of age or older to apply.
 
One (1) year of experience in customer service or a related field preferred.

  • Knowledge of recreation center policies, equipment, and facilities.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical principles.
  • Knowledge of the philosophies, principles, and practices of positive interaction with children, parents, and staff members.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  • Skill in the provision of customer service. 
  • Skill in the operation of computers, office equipment and various software programs.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to handle incidents reports and confrontations in a recreation facility and/or program.
  • Ability to provide a positive customer service attitude towards all customers and participants.
  • Ability to work within a multifunctional team.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at relatively the same time.
  • Ability to concentrate on detail.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, evenings and/or holidays.

Tools & Equipment
Requires frequent use of general office equipment, cleaning equipment and concession equipment.

Physical Demands
Requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, handling, feeling or operating objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision. 
 
Environment
Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.Part-time and Seasonal Town of Parker employees have limited access to benefits which include: employee assistance program (EAP), one (1) hour of sick time accrued for every thirty (30) hours worked, and employee plus one (1) other member in your household a membership to the Parker Recreation Center and/or Fieldhouse.
