This position is responsible for promoting and fostering a positive experience for our patrons using Parker Recreation facilities. Guest Service Representatives (GSRs) serve as the first contact for patrons regarding inquiries in person and over the phone. GSRs provide information and assistance to the public and employees according to established procedures. This position performs a variety of customer service, clerical, and maintenance duties in a manner that reflects the Town of Parker's commitment to quality service.Performs general receptionist duties such as greeting patrons, answering phones, receiving and relaying telephone messages, person-to-person inquiries, and answering questions regarding various facility operations which may include facility tours.
Provides quality service to all patrons which may include complaints and difficult situations.
Handles emergency situations and accurately completes incident reports.
Proper completion of various forms.
Assists in maintaining the overall appearance of Recreation facilities.
Assists and/or performs facility set ups and tear downs.
Maintains various inventories including but not limited to general office supplies, pro-shop merchandise and equipment rentals.
Operates computer for purpose of assisting patrons with membership related inquiries which may include class registration, scheduling and rentals.
Performs basic cash handling duties.
Assists in the establishment and maintenance of general and technical files, membership records, registration, invoices, correspondence files, and miscellaneous files and records.
Prepares letters and brochures for distribution, which may include folding, stapling, labeling, counting and cutting.
PERIPHERAL DUTIES: Performs general opening and closing procedures. Process activity registration and Recreation database reports. May train new front desk staff in all front desk and facility operations. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be 16 years of age or older to apply.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service or related field preferred.
CPR, First Aid and AED certification required within ninety (90) days of hire.
An equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be taken into consideration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Various computers, software packages, personal automobile, telephone, photo I.D. machine, facsimile (fax) machine, copy machine, printer, binder, folding machine, concession machine, and small hand tools.
Various janitorial tools including but not limited to brooms, mops, dust pans, plungers and cleaning solutions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is consistently required to sit, frequently stand and walk, and frequently use hands, fingers, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to carry, pull, push, or lift up to 50 pounds.
Employee must communicate clearly and effectively; must understand and be understood. Must be able to frequently engage in ordinary or telephone conversations with speech and hearing.
Employee must be able to consistently see with near and far acuity, depth perception, color vision and field vision. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust his or her focus, allowing a broad field of vision.
