This accounting position will perform accounts payable duties as well as various other accounting functions. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing all accounts payable functions.
• Receives & processes invoices (production, expense, and freight) for payment, charging to appropriate company and account number.
• Resolves any problems with invoices prior to submission for payment.
• Receive and respond to customer requests for invoices, statements, W-9’s, etc.
• Receive and respond to vendor requests regarding invoice/payment status.
• Distribute incoming mail to the appropriate department/personnel when needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Be knowledgeable of the accounts receivable system and serve as a backup.
• Perform all job accountabilities with professionalism and protect the organization’s/department’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
• Must be proficient in Excel.
• Proficiency in data entry and typing is important.
• Oral and written communication skills are required to effectively interact with vendors externally and internally with employees.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, and employees.
• Must be able to work in close contact with others in a small office and be able to get along with others.
• Skill in answering telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be well organized and detail oriented.

Education and Experience:

• Associates degree in Accounting or related business field preferred.
• 2-4 years accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Accounts Payable is very important.
