We are currently looking for a full-time Support Services Technician. The Support Services Technician provides support to the Sullivan University System campuses and business locations. This includes but is not limited to the desktop environment of the classrooms, public areas, staff, faculty and students of the entity. Some of the duties include configuring and managing the classroom computer configurations, network printing and coordinating support efforts with the centralized help desk.
Hours for this position will be 8 am-5 pm Monday-Friday with an 8 am-12 pm Saturday rotation.
Responsibilities of the position include:
Answers help desk calls as received and uses tracking software to track and manage help requests.
Provides basic troubleshooting for user requests pertaining to systems and network management.
Assists in hardware trouble shooting requests of student, faculty and staff computing equipment.
Assists in configuration of classroom networks and hardware equipment when needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements of the position include:
Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Two years related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Proficient knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems.
Call Center or previous helpdesk experience preferred.
Must possess excellent customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well and communicate with users at all levels and build productive and collaborative working relationships.
Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail while working for extended periods of time.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty, and staff face to face and via the telephone.
Must be able to maneuver about campus and business unit facilities.
