FSLA Status: Full Time, Exempt

Training Requirements: Direct Staff, Clinical Dept

Reports To: Clinical Director


Education & Licensure

  • College degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field (required)
  • License in the state of Florida LMHC, LCSW (preferred)

Experience & Skills

  • Interest and willingness to work with children, youth and adults from a person-centered perspective (training will be provided).
  • Ability and interest in case management.
  • Experience in domestic violence and human trafficking intervention preferred.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Proficient in use of technology, internet, apps.
  • Knowledge of ethical guidelines and state regulations related to the practice of therapy.
  • Ability to perform calmly in crisis situations.
  • Training and experience in crisis intervention counseling preferred.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Florida Driver's License and be willing to drive throughout Collier County.
  • Must be able to pass state and national background checks.
  • Successful completion of Core Competency course (training will be provided).
  • Successful completion of first aid and CPR class (training will be provided).
  • Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccinations or exemption.
  • Provide case management and linkage services, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction education.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups

Overview

Provide individual and group mental health counseling to adult and child victims of violence. Develop and utilize support group curriculums. Maintain knowledge of methods proven effective when working with survivors impacted by violence and other forms of trauma. Interface with area agencies and services to maintain effective collaborations. Maintain resource information on services and referrals processes available throughout the community (second tier services such as substance use, mental health, other).

Essential Functions

  • Develop community relationships and provide support and referrals.
  • Provide individual and group counseling for adults and children from a person-centered perspective.
  • Provide light motivational interviewing and harm reduction education.
  • Provide individual assessments for adults and children
  • Assess child abuse and neglect and provide intervention and prevention methods and resources.
  • Conduct danger and lethality assessments and develop safety plans.
  • Maintain appropriate records and statistics for all clients as required.
  • Participate in emergency shelter support rotation
  • Other duties (clinical or administrative) as assigned by Director.

Must be physically mobile and able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and lift 20 pounds.
