The Salvation Army is Hiring a Resident Monitor 2nd Shift Full Time or Part Time Near Sarasota, FL

Location: Center of Hope - Sarasota, FL
Position Type: Tuesday to Saturday - Full Time 3pm to 11pm
Thursday to Monday - Part Time 4:30pm-10pm
Pay Range: $16.50/hr
About this opportunity:
The Resident Monitor primary duties include accepting and processing clients into the lodge/shelter facility and monitoring the activity of guests on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security, and policy compliance.
Key responsibilities:
  • Monitors lodge/shelter facility to ensure safety.
  • Inputs data into Clarity
  • Communicates issues or relevant information through communication logs.
  • Responds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates corrective action in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Process guest mail
  • Answers telephone and responds to program inquiries.
What we are looking for in you:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND
  • one year experience performing security or social service work preferred OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.
  • Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 35 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
  • Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
