The Party Staff is Hiring a Business Development Representative Near Costa Mesa, CA

We are seeking a Business Development Representative ("BDR") to join our dynamic team at the Party Staff. This person must possess strong people skills and have the ability to work with a variety of clients internally and externally. In addition, the BDR must have strong attention to detail, keen follow up skills and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. In this position, he or she will be responsible for developing and executing sales plans to generate new business, meet internal quotas, and most importantly the needs of our clients. The ideal candidate would be a mid-level sales professional or junior, indoor/outdoor sales professional, looking for an opportunity to move into a fast-paced outside sales role. If this is you, and have a strong entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for building relationships and networking, we want to hear from you. Candidates must be local to the Greater Orange County area. 

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Strategic planning, presentation, and delivery to potential and existing clients to generate sales and build client base.
  • Contacting prospective clients through email, social networks, or phone.
  • Create and implement marketing strategies to develop client base and open new segments of business; conduct market research regularly.
  • Partnering with accounting, branch manager, and regional manager on contract negotiations, setting up accounts, receivables, terms, and rate negotiation.
  • Working effectively with the Staffing Department to communicate clients’ expectations.
  • Maintaining working relationships with existing and prospective clients with timely follow-ups and responses.
  • Achieving sales goals and service performance requirements through new and existing customer sales by providing excellent service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Generating weekly activity reports.
  • Stay up to date with industry knowledge and innovation by networking and participating in industry related events, functions and/or trade shows.
  • Assisting in the development of new sales material.
  • Other duties, as assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of outside sales experience, preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and project management.
  • Motivated self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work efficiently under pressure in an often deadline driven environment.
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn Mac software programs/devices, Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Working knowledge of the retail, staffing/hospitality, food, and beverage industry, preferred.
  • Must have reliable source of transportation.
  • Willing to work evening, weekends, and possible holidays.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Compensation:

$55,000 to $65,000 plus a comprehensive commission package.

This position also entails health benefits, paid vacation, and 401k program.
