Position Summary
The Benefits Department is responsible forcrafting and delivering innovative and best-in-class plans and programs that meet current/future employees’/participants’ needs, stay within budget and support the NBA’s business priorities.
This role assists with the day-to-day administration of retirement, health, welfare, and well-being programs. Responsibilities include compiling, analyzing, and reporting data; helping employees understand and appreciate their benefits through one-on-one interactions and general communications;coordinating certain benefits; and assisting with the execution of relevant programming to promote employee wellbeing and engagement.
Major Responsibilities
Administration
Support the implementation of any changes in benefits, systems, and/or vendors.
Maintain up-to-date records and documentation of work processes.
Compile data to develop invoices to pay vendors, code, and process for payment.
Analysis
Serve as liaison to Payroll by processing benefit changes such as exceptions, terminations, and corrections.
Under the direction of the Benefits and Wellbeing leadership, drive the data collection, reporting, and analytics of the Benefits Dashboard; make quarterly updates and provide analysis to aid in decision making.
Analyze and report other benefits data; provide recommendations to improve employee experience, financial management, and other key areas.
Communications
Manage benefits content on the My Total Wellbeing portal and Slack channel.
Provide customer service support throughout the employee lifecycle: serve as backup for New Hire Orientation; respond to employee queries about benefits and wellbeing plans; conduct benefit exit conversations with terminating employees.
Be responsible for the development of the quarterly Total Wellbeing newsletter.
Assist in the review of benefits communications; lead the distribution of all benefits communications.
Plan and host health events, webinars, and workshops aimed at promoting wellness in the company.
Compliance
Assist with audits, Non-discrimination Testing, 5500 preparation, and other activities to ensure the plans comply.
Vendor management
Collaborate with vendors on program administration, management, issue resolution, and program optimization.
Other
Manage the Educational Reimbursement benefit, perks and discounts program, and Sports and Activities Program.
Serve as backup for other members of the benefits team.
Required Education/Professional Experience
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in HR Management or a related field
1 year of professional experience in employee benefits or HR preferred
Experience with payroll and benefits software systems, PeopleSoft, and Probusiness/ADP experience preferred
CEBS or similar certification preferred

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in fast-paced environment
Initiative-taking, proactive working style, and abilityto work independently
Quick learner
Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with diligence
Solid understanding and working knowledge of applicable laws: ERISA/ COBRA/ HIPAA/ FMLA/ ACA preferred
Expertise in Excel (including Pivot tables, VLOOKUP), PowerPoint, and Word required
Strong oral, presentation, and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to build collaborative relationships
Experience with vendor implementation and rollout preferred
Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000
