The National Bank of Blacksburg is Hiring an Administrative Officer Near Blacksburg, VA

National Bankshares, Inc. is a solid and profitable community bank holding company with $1.6 billion in assets. National Bankshares is the parent company of The National Bank of Blacksburg, a 132 year-old bank with 24 full-service offices in southwest Virginia, and three loan production offices in Roanoke, Charlottesville and Staunton. This position will be located in Blacksburg, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced banker to become a key member of our team.

This senior level position will:

· Collaborate with senior management to ensure that all Human Resources initiatives are aligned with the strategic direction and goals of the organization.

· Supervise the HR team of manager and generalists.

· Serve as the Corporate Secretary to both the holding company and bank.

· Partner with executive management to provide strategic advice on banking matters and special projects.

· Work with the Training Department to design and implement job training and career enhance plans.

· Along with the President & CEO work with Investor Relations.

· Coordinate legal matters handled with outside legal counsel.

Specific areas of concentration include:

· Guidance regarding corporate governance.

· Preparing materials and agenda for a variety of meetings, including board presentations.

· Preparing resolutions and corporate documents for board meetings.

· In conjunction with outside counsel, prepare timely and accurate regulatory filings, including proxy statements and related filings.

· Educating bank directors and employees on legal, regulatory and industry developments.

· Participating in activities in the wider community as the President & CEO and Board may direct.

Education and Experience

· Five plus years of relevant banking experience.

· Familiarity with employment law and ERISA.
