Job Description :

The Mission Inn Hotel and Spa is a AAA Four Diamond hotel that is looking for a Revenue Manager will play a crucial role in maximizing revenue and optimizing profitability through effective pricing and inventory management strategies. This position requires a keen understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and a competitive landscape in the hotel sector. The Revenue Manager is responsible for the daily operations, systems, and sales in the Revenue & Reservations Department. Works with the Sales & Finance Department to accurately forecast future business. Communicates with the Front Desk, Sales, and Reservations, concerning sales strategy and house status daily. Supervises reservation agents in correct quoting of rates, sales effectiveness, and policies. Hospitality Background Required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Optimization: Develop and implement pricing strategies across all revenue streams, including room rates, packages, and ancillary services, to maximize revenue and occupancy levels while maintaining the hotel's luxury positioning.
  • Demand Forecasting: Utilize historical data, market intelligence, and demand forecasting tools to accurately predict future demand patterns and adjust pricing and inventory availability accordingly.
  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct regular competitive analysis to benchmark pricing, distribution strategies, and promotional activities against key competitors, identifying opportunities and threats to revenue performance.
  • Distribution Management: Oversee distribution channels, including online travel agencies (OTAs), global distribution systems (GDS), direct booking channels, and corporate partnerships, to optimize channel mix and minimize distribution costs.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage room inventory allocation to ensure optimal availability and maximize revenue potential, including managing room blocks, restrictions, and overbooking strategies.
  • Responsible for the daily room inventory management process. Actively monitor group blocks to determine room’s availability for sale.
  • Revenue Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze revenue performance reports, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, and providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Ensure that the necessary reports are maintained and systematically analyzed, containing market intelligence reports including but not limited to: Demand360, Hotelligence, STR, DaySTR, Forecasts, etc.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align revenue strategies with overall business objectives, ensuring seamless execution and maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Review of all group inquiries and provide qualified analysis of how each booking will impact occupancy, average rate, and room profit over the dates in question.
  • Include General Manager & Director of Sales & Marketing when further review or decision needs to be made.
  • Receive and review all revisions and addendums to definite and tentative group bookings to prepare revised analysis as needed.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage revenue management systems, forecasting tools, and other technology solutions to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
  • Oversee and evaluate the effectiveness of any internal incentive programs for Front Office and Reservations.
  • Provide the General Manager with a clear performance analysis. Assist the General Manager in making necessary adjustments to any program.
  • Assist with the annual hotel budget development and ongoing results analysis.
  • Is an integral part of the leadership team, attends all scheduled meetings and contributes actively with proper preparation.
  • Conducts a daily briefing with department team members on current key activities.

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CRME) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of revenue management experience in the hotel (luxury preferred) industry, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and optimizing profitability.
  • In-depth knowledge of revenue management principles, techniques, and best practices, particularly within the luxury segment.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in revenue management systems (e.g., RMS, PMS), Excel, and other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence key stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, anticipate market trends, and develop innovative revenue strategies.
  • Results-oriented, with a focus on achieving revenue targets and delivering measurable business outcomes.
