The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa is looking to hiring Stewards/Dishwashers!

The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa is looking for experienced Stewards who understand that sparkling service ware is essential for presenting meals to guests. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Communicates effectively with co-workers and supervisor.
• Pre-washes and scrapes all plates before going into the dishwasher.
• Runs all dishes in the machine at the required temperature of: 140 degrees pre-wash, 160 degrees wash, and 180 degrees final rinse.
• Stacks the dishes neatly at their required stations. Never run the dishwasher without water, soap or rinse.
• Cleans up the dishwasher as needed.
• Changes water every two hours as well as at the end of every shift.
• Prepares silver soaking container with foil master and silver power first thing every morning. (Change water as needed) Runs all silverware through the machine using the special silverware racks.
• Sorts the silverware and returns them to their respective bus tubs.
• Makes sure that all silver items are always polished and ready for service.
• Makes sure that all glassware is on the right rack.
• Keeps cook's line wheel stocked with china/hot plates at all times.
• Makes sure that all dishes out of the dishwasher are clean and spotless.
• Washes and dries all black trays as needed.
• Refills dispensers with paper towel and soap in the hand sink in all outlets in the kitchen.
• Sweeps and/or mops the floor at 11am/4pm, daily and as requested by any supervisor.
• Cleans up any spill and use a wet sign immediately.
• Keep dish room/pot station clean and organized.
• Cleans and organizes all counters and shelves.
• Assists the chef in dishing the food on plates and prepares them for prompt service.
• Follows hotel grooming and dress standards. (Name tag, hat, clean uniform, safety shoes)
• Assists pot washer when needed.
• Washes floor and mats in the dish room before you leave (pm).
• De-limes the dishwasher once a month. Assists in the break down of banquet functions.
• Monitor trash levels in all cans and remove when needed.
• Brings all work related problems to the attention of your supervisor immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS

• No prior experience required
• Must have, or willing to obtain, a valid Riverside County Food Hander’s Card.
• Must be able to communicate and understand directions given
• Willingness to work a varied schedule which includes working on weekends, nights, holiday and the Festival of Lights.
