The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Olympia, WA is Hiring an Office Manager Near Olympia, WA

The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd located in Olympia, WA is recruiting for an Office Manager to join our team of dedicated professionals. The position will be accountable for office management, accounting, day-to-day facility management and administrative support. Summary of Accountabilities:

Office Management:

  • Serve as primary contact for receiving and addressing communications related to church administrative operations.
  • Ensure office equipment and supplies are maintained.
  • Maintain integrity of church documentation.

Accounting:

  • Perform accounting functions such as posting income, payables approval, and payroll.
  • Manage accounts receivable for building related functions.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.

Facility Management:

  • Manage day-to-day building use and scheduling.
  • Receive and manage requests for rental of facility space.
  • Ensure compliance with rental agreements and tenant leases.
  • Manage all health and safety components including emergency planning.
  • Facilitate clear communication between building tenants and church personnel.
  • Work with the facilities team and custodian to ensure church property is functional and maintained well.

Administrative Support:

  • Support the pastoral staff and administrator with a variety of tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years general office and/or facilities management related work experience, three years accounting/bookkeeping experience and high school diploma. Other equivalent experience that demonstrates an ability to successfully perform the accountabilities of the position will be considered.
  • Excellent people skills: must have an attitude of genuine caring for people.
  • Maintain a cooperative team spirit with staff, volunteers, and congregation.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new tasks and functions.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in written materials.
  • Solid understanding of software tools, including Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with a high level of personal integrity and self-motivation.

Job Type:

  • Initially 30 hours per week

Salary and Benefits:

  • Starting salary $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
  • Health coverage
  • Paid Vacation & Sick Leave
  • Paid Holidays

Schedule and Location:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Onsite in Olympia, WA
