Housekeeping Attendant
Related Title: Room Attendant; Maid
Reports to: Director of Lodging
Supervises: No supervisory duties are included in this position.
Classification:
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent desirable.
One year of comparable work preferred.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
Able to absorb and embody Relais & Chateaux as well as Forbes philosophies.
Well groomed, polite.
Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in respect of our guests.
Must be able to work consistent hours during week, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Provide a consistently exceptional experience for all guests.
Offer guests knowledgeable and personalized service.
Unparalleled accuracy and attention to detail.
Regularly clean and maintain onsite facilities including guest rooms, cabins, big house, pool area, sauna and other areas as required. Tasks include vacuuming, emptying trash cans, dusting, cleaning windows, mopping floors, laundry, etc.
Replenish consumables in guest lodgings.
Prompt service in meeting guest needs (i.e. delivery of amenities with limited notice).
Knowledgeable about maintaining, cleaning and preserving a wide variety of surfaces.
Follows instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Clean all guest rooms and common areas.
Job Tasks/Duties
Cleans and Prepares guest rooms and cabins per Housekeeping check list.
Strips and remakes beds with fresh linen.
Empties wastebaskets and trash.
Checks all areas for items left behind and place in bag with Name of guest, date and room.
Wipes all windowsills, walls and light switches.
Vacuums rugs and floors.
Dust all furniture and fixtures.
Checks lamps for burned-out light bulbs.
Places Relais & Chateaux and Glendorn on desk; makes sure all phone directories are present.
Checks drapes are in good working condition and left in open position.
Wipes mirrors and windows.
Checks heating and air conditioning unit for proper operation, set thermostats to (65 degrees?)
Changes mattress pads and blankets, if needed.
Restocks all stationery.
Cleans and sanitizes toilets.
Washes tiles, tub, shower walls and fixtures.
Wipes shower curtain.
Cleans sink and fixtures.
Cleans walls, baseboards and floor.
Restocks towels, wash cloths, soap, glasses and other supplies and amenities.
Reports when guestrooms are clean and ready for occupancy.
Cleans and Resets indoor fireplaces.
Vacuums guest room hallways.
Washes, dries and folds laundry.
Properly stocks pool cabana and ensures pool is ready to open.
Retrieves used towels from pool, puts down umbrellas and restocks pool towels at end of day.
Stocks storage rooms.
Attends staff meetings.
Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
Licenses and Special Requirements
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform strenuous work lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping
and climbing. Spend a frequent amount of time standing.
Use step ladders when required.
Job has the potential to expose the employee to human blood pathogens or infectious materials. Use PPE as needed.
