The Intersect Group is looking for a Field Technician that will serve as a local point of contact for any Information Technology related issue or effort.

In a reactive mode, this individual will handle not only problems with equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, fax, and scanners but will serve as the local eyes, ears, and arms of IT to help with network and application troubleshooting.

In a proactive mode, individual will maintain local technology equipment, provide computer training, office and business application training, work with local users to determine how technology can better be leveraged, and serve as an interface and advocate for the business users to the rest of IT.

Responsibilities :

• Individual will support both the office staff and the remote division sites.
• Individual must be able to work safely around large moving equipment and follow all safety rules and regulations relative to working in the railroad environment as well as wearing PPE and boots in appropriate areas.
• Individual will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading and repairing desktop / laptop computers, printers and other technology equipment and for providing first level support for technology issues for local and regional customers.

They must be able to work independently and as a team member on projects with many challenges. Individuals will also need to be self-motivated and travel extensively, when necessary.

This will include both daytime and overnight travel to regional railroad yards and other facilities. Individual must be able to work effectively with remote IT groups such as Network, Server, Application Development and Information Security to assist in support of local technology in their various areas.
