Position Overview

We are in search of a passionate and committed Middle School Spanish Teacher to join our vibrant faculty. The Middle School Spanish Teacher will be responsible for fostering a stimulating and supportive learning environment, enabling students to develop proficiency in Spanish language skills while nurturing an appreciation for Hispanic cultures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a solid grasp of child development, and a dedication to instilling a love for language learning in young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement engaging Spanish language curriculum and lesson plans for middle school students, ensuring alignment with educational standards and objectives.
  • Employ diverse teaching methods and instructional strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, cultivating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Incorporate cultural elements and authentic materials into lessons to enrich students' comprehension and appreciation of Spanish-speaking cultures.
  • Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, offering timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to departmental meetings to coordinate curriculum, exchange best practices, and foster interdisciplinary connections.
  • Effectively communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress, upcoming events, and opportunities for involvement in their child's language learning journey.
  • Utilize technology to enhance instruction, communication, and student engagement in the classroom.
  • Cultivate a positive and respectful classroom community where students feel supported, valued, and motivated to achieve both academically and personally.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in language instruction, pedagogy, and cultural competency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field (Required).
  • Teaching certification/license in Spanish or Foreign Language Education (Preferred).
  • Proficiency in Spanish language (written and spoken) at a native or near-native level.
  • Prior experience teaching Spanish to middle school students strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents/guardians.
  • Passion for teaching and a genuine dedication to promoting language learning and cultural understanding.
  • Adaptability and creativity in designing engaging and age-appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
