Position Purpose: The Fleet Manager will be responsible for all delivery operations from the distribution center completed by private fleet. Duties will include but are not limited to private fleet operations and maintenance, driver supervision, driver engagement, DOT and other applicable federal/state law compliance, customer delivery escalations, and measurement and reporting of delivery key performance indicators for the distribution center.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities: 15% Delivery Operations - Ensuring delivery operations are compliant with federal, state and company requirements (driver qualification files, pre/post inspections, vehicle safety, internal SOPs) and coaching associates on non-compliant activity
10% Management of financial and operations metrics - Management of financial and operations metrics
50% Management of local delivery drivers - This will include managing: daily operations (daily driver start-up meetings, driver check-in process, driver ride-alongs), driver productivity, providing associate feedback and coaching, supporting daily planning activities (reviewing volume forecasts, building daily delivery routes)
15% Management Delivery - Managing delivery trucks and assets (truck inventory, truck maintenance, cleanliness)
10% Supporting Delivery - Supporting delivery questions from internal teams (customer service) and customers
Nature and Scope: This Position typically reports to General Manager
This Position has 15 Direct Reports
Environmental Job Requirements: Environment: 1. Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel: Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
