Essential Functions:

• Handles a variety of phone calls/messages within 20 minutes of receipt
• Functions as a resource for inquiries about Home Care services on The Highlands campus and in the community
• Tactfully deals with employees, clients, guests, and others; consistently demonstrates tolerant and courteous behavior
• Adjusts the schedule as needed to provide coverage for clients in the case of an absence and provides the necessary service(s) if a substitute cannot be found
• Notifies clients and/or facility of any changes to an existing clients’ schedule
• Problem-solves using available resources to meet client needs
• Proficiency with web based software
• Provides accurate record keeping of all On Call activities

Expected Hours of Work:

• Position is on-call hourly nonexempt. Standard days and hours of work are after normal Home Care business hours, from 4:30pm to 8am weekdays and from 8am to 8am weekend days and holidays.
• Holidays are covered on a rotating schedule
• Position rotates two weeks on with one week off

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-3 Years’ Personal Care experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with residents/clients, supervisors, and co-workers using understandable language skills in reading, writing, and speaking in person and on the phone.
• Patience, sensitivity, kindness, and aptitude for working with elderly and/or cognitively impaired individuals.
• Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting to residents'/clients’ specific needs and situations.

Certification and License Requirements:

• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Check

Physical Requirements and Physical Demands:

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to climb, kneel, pull with force, reach above head, reach above shoulder, push/pull (up to 100 lbs.), lift from floor level up, lift from waist level up, lift above shoulders/head, ability to lift, push, pull with assistance (mechanical or co-worker) the weight of the average patient-specific to department, Lifting 25 lbs. maximum and frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
