POSITION SUMMARY
Provides administrative support to the Human Resources department.
POSITION DUTIES
- Administrative functions such as: answering phones, filing, creating badges, etc.
- Responsible for daily employee requests (walk-ins, emails, phone calls).
- Responsible for new employee onboarding.
- Create, monitor and maintain personnel and medical files for required compliance measures.
- Create pay requests as needed for new hire drug screen testing, tuberculosis testing, physicals, and fingerprint clearance cards.
- Responsible for external employment verifications.
- Assist with all areas of HR, including recruiting, training, benefits, etc. as requested.
- Assist with maintaining HR data system – entering new hires, updating employee information.
- Conduct audits of HR files as needed.
- Responsible for managing worker’s compensation.
- Complete and submit reports as requested.
- Manage organization’s recognition program, including Pride on the Spot, monthly employee appreciation events, quarterly work anniversary lunches, and annual events.
- Monthly employee newsletter.
- Responsible for TGC social media.
- Attend community events to represent The Guidance Center and provide information on services offered.
- Obtain and maintain AZ Notary.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
- Provide high quality customer service to internal and external customers.
- Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
- Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement Processes of the agency.
- Complete all TGC required trainings on time.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism while performing job functions.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to learn.
- This position is 100% onsite, in the state of Arizona.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED and 2 years office/HR experience OR- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Knowledge of HRIS system.
- Ability to obtain Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- At least 18 years of age or older.
- Valid AZ driver’s license.
Preferred:
- At least 2 years’ experience in Human Resources.
- Experience in behavioral health/medical environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources or related field.

The physical demands of this position warrant: Sedentary Work: Occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds, sitting most of the time and may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
