Biotechnology Startup Company in NYC is looking for a Director of IT Services.

Scope of Role

• Provide leadership in technology portfolio for enablement and innovation
• Manage a portfolio of technology projects to meet cost, scope, and schedule constraints
• Develop key performance indicators and SLAs in lieu of requirement of stakeholders
• Develop policies for internal IT operations to drive attainment of SLAs
• Define the enterprise architecture in conjunction with current and future requirements
• Manage and support delivery of software and hardware operations and projects
• Enable process efficiency of back office operations
• Drive innovation for front office or core business operations by recommending viable technologies
• Identify key skills and talent gaps in the organization and work to recruit, train, and retain talent
• Identify and manage external vendors in the delivery of contracted work

Management and oversight of IT Support Services

• Level 1 – 3 Support
• Level 1 - They are at the frontline. Their phone number is typically on the company's website for IT support (password resets, printer connectivity). These people identify the employee’s problem, fix it if it is in their control or escalate it if specialized assistance.
• Level 2 - They assist the employee with specialized support (hardware set up ie laptops, setting up monitor and and docking stations at a desk and installation of necessary software etc) . If the employee is needing security permissions modified in a specific application or specialized assistance with an application, that is typically the responsibility of Level 2.
• Level 3 - Department/Application Specialization: These people are typically experts in a particular application or service. They install, configure, and monitor critical applications and servers (GBC server room, Sharepoint management/admin etc).
• Hardware/Device Management
• Procurement for all IT equipment (computers, severs, mobile devices, cables and dongles)
• Cataloguing and maintaining inventory lists and allotment lists
• Software License Management
• Acquiring and managing licenses and renewals
• Vetting and setting up contracts for group licenses and renewals
• Managing license lists with licensees

IT Infrastructure & Networking

• Network infrastructure implementation and maintenance
• ISP Management
• IT input and management in build out of new office space

Risk & Security

• Cybersecurity
• Having input on drafting and papering cybersecurity protocols and policies
• Ensuring all employees are compliant
• Remediation and plan of action in case of an event/breach
• Office/Labs
• Responsible for installation/maintenance of office access management system, coordinating with landlord for each location
• Keycard and employee/contractor access management
• Drafting and papering office safety procedures
• Security Cameras, monitoring and maintenance, vendor provider management
• Theft/Loss Prevention
• Responsible for putting in policies and procedures to prevent loss and theft
• Investigating and resolving issues
• Travel/Event Security
• Responsible for drafting and putting any policies and procedures in place for employee safety during business travel and business events (both offsite and onsite)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $250,000.00 per year
