The Flatiron School is Hiring an Event Coordinator (Part-Time) Near Austin, TX

 

Event Coordinator 

Campus-Based, Onsite (Flatiron adheres to all necessary safety and health precautions in accordance with state COVID guidelines) 

Initial 4 Month Contract (Part-Time, 29/hrs weekly)

As an Event Coordinator, you’ll be the local point of contact for our Community and Marketing teams and be the “face” of Flatiron School! You will report to your building each day to collaborate and support the execution of In-person events 

  • Collaborate with the On-Site Community Lead on the execution
  • Build a welcoming and collaborative community environment amongst our students through events and relationship-building.
  • Take direction from the Community and Marketing Managers (Managed Remotely) to support the team’s event needs
  • Create and support engaging Marketing and Community Events
  • All of this while illustrating Flatiron’s core values and working towards achieving our mission of enabling the pursuit of a better life through education.

In this role, you’ll:

Event Management

  • Be a Flatiron School Ambassador to the broader community - available and open to offering 'Campus Tours' as well as being the 'face of the brand' at events (this could include presenting a 5 - 10 min speech on Flatiron School, sharing information about the brand/programs, etc.).
  • Partner with the Marketing and Community teams to execute on programming for prospective and active students. (including event setup, communicating with vendors/partners, checking people in, preparing the room, clean-up, etc.)
  • Partner with Community and instructional team members to gain access to industry guest speakers.
  • Act as the “eyes and ears” of each market: regularly share local insights and provide photos.
  • Provide feedback on programming types (based on student population) and evaluate events based on attendance, satisfaction, and impact on the appropriate event team.
  • Regularly report event performance, including RSVPs, attendees, and specific event feedback and experience.

Community Engagement

  • Support the On-Site Community lead with creating a respectful and great space for students to learn
  • Greet students and guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ensure all students are following Flatiron’s guest policy by ensuring all guests properly sign in.
  • Be professionally active and engaged with students.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you meet the qualifications below:

  • 1 years Event Management experience preferred
  • 1 years Customer Facing Experience
  • Flexibility in your schedule for event support mainly afternoons and nights and weekends
  • Love for event execution and an eye for detail and innovation
  • Solution Focused - the ability to solve problems quickly and thoroughly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and multitasking skills.
  • A culture carrier: empathetic to our students and mission-driven
  • A strong cross-functional communicator that is organized and meets agreed-upon deadlines
  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and compassion.

  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
