The Flatiron School is Hiring a Partnerships & Community Manager, NYC Near New York, NY

Job Description

Job Description

With our flagship campus located in the heart of New York City, we are dedicated to fostering a vibrant tech community and providing unparalleled educational opportunities.

In this position, you will serve as the onsite leader at our NYC campus and oversee lead generation through building a local Tech Community Hub in partnership with our Events Manager. You will be responsible for building strategic relationships within the local tech scene, attending and hosting meetups and events on behalf of Flatiron School, and leveraging your network to expand our presence in the New York City community. Each day will look a bit different as you step in to help wherever there is a need - greeting and hosting guests, helping set up for an event, filming short videos for social media, facilitating icebreakers or emceeing an event.

Responsibilities:

  • Own our on-campus community and oversee the campus space, serving as a campus leader and community builder.
  • Direct people management of a small team, who support community engagement and campus facilities.
  • Develop partnerships within the local tech community to generate leads by bringing people into our campus space, growing our visibility, brand awareness and pipeline of prospective learners.
  • Ensure a consistent volume of high quality applications in order to fill our NYC classes
  • Represent Flatiron School and be an expert on Flatiron School's course offerings; attend industry meetups and networking events on behalf of Flatiron School.
  • In partnership with our Events Manager, host regular events and meetups to engage current and prospective learners, alumni, and industry professionals. Occasional weeknights and weekends are required.
  • Ensure a welcoming and collaborative environment that is a safe and comfortable place for learning and socializing, upholding campus policies and procedures to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all community members.
  • Be the primary point of contact for our NYC campus location, creating a warm and welcoming experience for everyone who enters the space.
  • Work cross-functionally with geographically distributed colleagues on our Admissions, Community, Education, Career Services, Advising, and Marketing teams to provide a seamless student & community experience.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of in-person sales experience, with a track record of exceeding quota.
  • A strategic community builder with a demonstrated track record of growing a large community or following, ideally within NYC.
  • Experience managing a team or team members.
  • A passion for Tech - you know the local scene well and are excited to learn more.
  • An effective and trusted communicator. You are patient, proactive and personable, and you can connect with just about anyone. You are comfortable addressing large groups of people and are a natural group facilitator.
  • Extremely organized and can manage time effectively and can support your team in doing the same. You know how to create a schedule and how to adapt when things deviate from the schedule.
  • You are proactive, self-motivated and adaptable, and can switch context as required, and have the ability to make business-aligned decisions independently.
  • You are excited to become an expert on all things related to Flatiron School, and to share it with others.
  • Experienced using CRMs and databases (we use Salesforce).
  • Data-savvy; able to spot patterns in student data and make recommendations based on it.
  • Experience managing a sales or recruitment funnel and excited to have clear quantitative goals, including class size targets and # RSVPs / unique attendees on campus.

Expected Compensation:

  • $80K-$85K
