Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads and Ensures accurate financial reporting through timely and well-documented account reconciliations at the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Responsible for key accounting activities, including but not limited to reconciles bank account balances and bank statements as well as the agency’s investment portfolio accounts assets, accounts payable, verifies, prepares journal entries and reconciles account receivables, grants receivables, prepaid expenses, pledges, non-government grants, and accrued liabilities.
- Records, maintains, and reconciles the agency’s fixed assets activities.
- Responsible for grant financial reporting and compliance regarding grant budgets and reports
- Coordinates timely completion of audit schedules and supports year-end audit.
- Back up for accounts payable processing.
- Ad hoc reports and duties as necessary
Other Duties:
- Attends on-going training sessions, employee meetings, etc.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Identify and recommend changes to company policies, procedures, and internal controls as necessary.
- Prepares audit schedules as needed.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field,
- 1 to 3 or more years of accounting experience
- a minimum of 15 hours in accounting
- with aptitude to work with a $17 million dollar budget; non-profit experience preferred, but not required.
Knowledge and Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of audit and generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
- Knowledge of intermediate to advanced functionality of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Knowledge of grant accounting
- Knowledge of fund accounting
- Skilled at maintaining accurate financial records and preparing clear and accurate reports for informational, audit and operational use.
- Skilled at handling shifting priorities in a deadline driven environment.
- ERP
