Here is an exciting opportunity to join Emily Hotel as an Assistant Floor Manager! The Assistant Floor Manager is an overtime eligible position responsible for the day to day floor operation of their assigned outlet in The Emily Hotel. This position directs and maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff. Works closely with the Restaurant General Manager and Director of Food & Beverage to monitor the effectiveness of the services and products offered in the outlets and adjust accordingly to ensure maximum profitability, and responsible for providing lateral service to other Food and Beverage operations as needed.

What Will You Do?

• Provide the highest quality service to guests at all times.
• Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled.
• Regularly communicate with employees and guests.
• Help manage the floor, including touching tables, running food, overseeing staff, and monitoring the door.
• Ensure restaurant is ready for service and up to department standards.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings with staff and review all information pertinent to the day’s business.
• Ensure that staff opening and closing duties have been completed and are up to department standards.
• Help manage all employees, including assisting in training, support, performance management, and discipline 
• Check the reservation books and running the door when needed.
• Update POS with menu changes.
• Maintain consistent knowledge of house account and arrivals.
• Assist with monthly inventory.
• Expedite on the floor and in the kitchen as business demands.
• Provide feedback to staff on their performance. Handle performance problems and coach/counsel employees according to hotel policy
• Attend hotel operational meetings as requested

What You Bring?

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, culinary arts, business administration or similar preferred.
• Two years working in a restaurant setting preferred.
• Additional certifications (ServSafe, TiPS, Basset, ect.) required.

Essential Qualifications:

• • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution.
  • Have superb time management skills.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
  • Other language, mathematical, and reasoning.
  • Ability to comply with physical demands as outlined below.
  • Technologically sound with Microsoft applications and Adobe InDesign.
  • Must meet any required minimum age to serve alcohol.
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Knowledge of safety initiatives in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations
