The Council on Recovery is Hiring a Treatment Coordinator Near Houston, TX

Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Treatment Coordinator works closely and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the successful coordination of substance use disorder treatment. The primary focus of this position is to facilitate admissions of clients into the Healing Choices Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program as well as other services, which includes maintaining relationships with community providers, encouraging and motivating clients’ participation and commitment to treatment and reducing barriers to continued care.

 JOB DUTIES

  • Client liaison for new clients, which may include: 

1. Responding to calls/inquiry with compassion and respect.

2. Provide screening and clinical assessments.

3. Explain fees to clients and obtain insurance information for billing purposes.

4. Support in intake and orientation of clients.

5. Ensure all data entered is accurate.

  • Conducts clinical assessments, prior authorization and utilization reviews for treatment clients.
  • Coordinates with clinical team to determine availability for services, service type, and support planning around the clients' needs.
  • Engages in weekly coordination meetings with internal staff to identify available resources, review priority situations, reduce barriers, and provide rapid access to referrals, as well as act as liaison to intake, billing and clinical teams.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with private practitioners, treatment centers, and other community organizations, to facilitate ease of referrals and seamless care for clients.
  • Coordinates marketing lunches and other events for Center for Recovering Families. 
  • Remains up to date on clinical theory, therapeutic techniques, and treatment protocols
  • Educate about substance use, mental health and related issues. 
  • Remain knowledgeable about The Council on Recovery programs, services and activities, as well as local and/or national community level treatment providers, substance abuse service agencies, and support groups.
  • Additional clinical responsibilities may include facilitation of group and individual therapy sessions not to exceed a total of 5 hours weekly. 
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 

  • Understanding of ASAM and DSM 5 diagnostic criteria for substance use disorder and mental health disorders.
  • Experience conducting clinical assessments .
  • Working knowledge of community resources and experience in developing partnerships.
  • Experience with prior authorizations and utilization reviews strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to problem solve, be proactive and practice flexibility; and to prioritize and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Strong computer technology skills, including Microsoft Suite. Ability to remain up to date on current technology systems, learn new technology systems and implement within scope of duties.
  • Related call-center experience a plus.

EDUCATION

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field required
  • Clinical License (e.g. LCSW, LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A) required. 
  • Bilingual –fluent English/Spanish a plus.
