Legacy Community Health Services is Hiring a Dental Treatment Coordinator Near Houston, TX

Legacy Community Health is a premium, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive care to community members regardless of their ability to pay. Our goal is to treat the entire patient while improving their overall wellness and quality of life, in addition to providing free pregnancy tests, HIV/AIDS screening. At Legacy, we empower patients to lead better lives by promoting healthy behaviors and offering resources such as literacy classes, family planning services, and nutrition and weight management information.

Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to 10 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. We also service students within KIPP and YES Prep schools. Legacy is committed to driving healthy change in our communities.

Job Description

The Dental Treatment Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that patients receive all information required for dental appointments including; insurance verification, prepare treatment plans for future dental care, as well as addressing any patient concerns.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare dental treatment plans for each patient, listing recommended treatments/procedures and costs.
  • Discuss recommended plans with patients to obtain patient understanding and agreement.
  • Be able to explain the financial estimates to each patient on their dental treatment plan, and the source of costs.
  • Schedule and confirm dental appointments.
  • Maintaining the schedules daily and updating the Recall list for patients who need to return in greater than 120 days.
  • Verify and enter the payor source, insurance, and benefit information for each patient visit.
  • Answer incoming calls and return voicemails daily.
  • Document and navigate within the EHR, Centricity and VisDental.
  • Verify and update patient information in patient registration within Centricity (demographics, signature pages, etc.).
  • Communicate with patient about any dental concerns and problem solve with manager ways to address concerns. This may include issues with treatment plan, cost of treatment, and scheduling.
  • Submit and obtain pre-authorizations from insurances in a timely manner.
  • Run daily/weekly inquiries on Dental Internal Service Orders, and contact patients as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Education & Training Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of Computer, Calculator, Word process program
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred

Work Experience Requirements

  • Knowledge of dental insurance
  • Knowledge of dental terminology
  • Strong communications skills
  • Adhere to confidentiality, State, Federal and HIPPA laws and guidelines with regards to patient’s records
  • Ability to meet Legacy Community Health’s EPIC proficiency requirements
