Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the success of the Foundation and help create positive impacts in our Northern Nevada communities.

Responsibilities:

Accounting:

· Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records.

· Process inter-fund contributions, grants, and financial gifts, including recording contributions, issuing acknowledgments, and maintaining donor databases.

· Process invoices and generate checks for accounts payable and grants, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

· Prepare quarterly fund statements for fund advisors and produce annual 1099s for vendors.

· Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

· Monitor and maintain assets ledgers, reconcile programs and activities with external entities, and prepare statutory reports for regulatory bodies.

Administration:

· Perform fund administration tasks, including monitoring and reconciling financial transactions, preparing fund reports, and maintaining accurate records of fund activities.

· Administer non-cash gifts, ensuring proper valuation, recording, and acknowledgment in compliance with regulations and organizational policies.

· Support the CFO with long-term management and transactions related to non-cash and illiquid assets.

· Manage document retention systems, including file organization and storage, to ensure easy retrieval of financial records and related documents.

· Assist with file systems and SharePoint management, maintaining and updating platforms for effective collaboration and document sharing.

· Provide administrative support for the Community Housing Land Trust, assisting with housing projects and community initiatives.

· Generate reports for Donor Relations, maintain data integrity, and produce monthly fundraising and key performance indicator reports.

· Utilize project management tools to oversee and track progress on projects.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

· 5 years of experience in financial administration, accounting, or related roles. A combination of experience and education may also be considered.

· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in financial records.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

· Experience with donor databases and fundraising software preferred.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
