Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting, direct hire recruitment of accounting and finance professionals, is recruiting to fill a Staff Accountant position with a battery technology company located in Reno. The person in this role will have a range of responsibilities including:
• Reconcile bank and other balance sheet accounts
• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Manage Fixed Assets and coordinate with engineering team to issue Purchase Orders related to projects
• Back up for Accounts Receivable Specialist and Accounts Payable Specialist
• Handle pricing updates
• Review expense reports
• Manage Sales Tax process
• Automate and improve processes per SOX Compliance
• Complete various filings/reporting including governmental census reporting, commerce tax return, personal property declarations and any other ad hoc reporting.
To be considered for the role candidates must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA is a plus
• Working knowledge of regulatory standards (GAAP)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
The person in this role reports directly to the Controller, but will also have the benefit of a strong Senior Accountant to help support them in the role.
