The Operations Manager position is full time and salaried. The salary range is $56,000-$65,000,depending upon experience and training.The Operations Manager is an essential member of The Common School administrative team and plays acrucial role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the School's administrative and operational processesand creating a welcoming school environment. This multifaceted position encompasses overseeing officeand school operations, managing data and technology systems, handling communications, as well assupporting branding, development, fundraising, and business office functions. This role reports to theHead of School and provides clerical support to the administrative team and Board Trustees. TheOperations Manager job is a full-time, in-person, salaried position. Core responsibilities include:Office and School Operations● Lead all office operations by building and maintaining efficient systems.● Build and maintain relationships; operate as a school representative.● Monitor, coordinate, document, and facilitate same-day coverage for teacher absences.● Maintain a first aid station and provide basic care and communication for sick or injured students.● Update and maintain policies and procedures for the School.● Work with administrative staff to manage unexpected events or emergencies.Data & Technology● Implement and manage school-wide data systems.● Analyze data to identify trends.● Administer the School’s Google Suite.● Provide basic IT assistance to faculty and staff and manage school digital subscriptions.● Make Search Engine Optimization improvements to the website as needed.Communications & Outreach● Track and support the admissions process.● Maintain the website, email addresses, and facilitate consistent communications.● Coordinate social media accounts and website content.● Support outreach and communication between the School, caregivers, and the broader community.● Respond to all correspondence and produce materials for development, branding, outreach, and hiring.Development & Business Operations● Maintain databases to support development and advancement initiatives .● Coordinate and maintain internal calendars, timelines, and submission of deliverables to achieve milestones indevelopment, grant cycles, and AISNE reporting.● Maintain inventory of supplies and materials.● Support business office operations with back office capacity.● Coordinate purchasing and receiving and work with teachers on classroom needs.Qualifications & SkillsThe ideal candidate will have:● Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships with allstakeholders.● Ability to think strategically and to manage complexity and ambiguity, and to create and usesystems to achieve school goals● Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously, complete tasks in a timely manner, anddemonstrate flexibility.● Ability to develop comprehensive plans, manage calendars, and meet multiple deadlines.● Ability to collect, compile, analyze, and use data systems and tools to establish goals, identifynew opportunities, monitor progress and trends, and share impact.● Excellent organization skills and be detail-oriented.● A high degree of sensitivity to privacy and will operate with empathy and warmth toward others.● An orientation toward constant learning and operating with positivity in the face of challenges.● Ability to clearly articulate their connection to the mission of The Common School and thesignificance of a Common School education.● Good judgment and the ability to collaboratively problem solve, knowing when to solvechallenges, when to loop in others, and when to elevate concerns to administration.● Proficiency in the use of technology including Google Suite and electronic record-keepingsystems (required), Adobe, and Canva (preferred).● Ability to support and uphold the School’s mission and work to create a school community thatvalues diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and social justice.● Willingness to be trained to administer CPR, First Aid, EpiPen, and other non complex schoolhealth responsibilities.Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in operations, teaching, schooladmissions, or development/fundraising.We seek candidates who will add to the racial, cultural, and gender diversity of the school community.The School is committed to reducing bias throughout the hiring process.
