The Interim Director for Finance and Comptroller is responsible for all the oversight of the accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and bursar's functions; managing the budget for the areas of responsibilities; manages investment of short term funds; review of financial, accounting, tax matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary responsibility for the oversight of the personnel and operations of the financial services and bursar's office financial records of the College including review of balance sheet and income statements for appropriate accounting
  • Budgetary and supervisory responsibilities of the financial services and bursar's areas
  • Resolves problems relative to student accounts, payroll, accounting and accounts payable
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts including the processing of journal entries
  • Internal financial review of income statement and balance sheet items
  • Maintains policies and procedures relative to the finance offices in accordance with governing bodies
  • Processes electronic payments and receipts in conjunction with financial services staff
  • Assists with the reconciliation of vendor's invoices in conjunction with financial services staff
  • Completes monthly and investment bank reconciliations
  • Updates weekly cash flow details
  • Works closely with the student solution center managers to assure high quality customer service for students and employees
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business related field required
  • Experience in reconciliation of bank statements preferred
  • Expertise with MS Excel and Word required; experience with Ellucian Banner preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Ability to independently manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with various constituencies
