The City of Fort Worth is Hiring a Management Analyst ll Near Fort Worth, TX

Pay Range: $68,905- $89,576 annual compensation

Workdays & Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; with some, but rare, evening/weekend work required.

The Environmental Services Department is seeking to hire a qualified applicant for the position of Management Analyst II for the Solid Waste Services Division. This position performs a wide variety of complex financial analytical duties related to business operations, contract compliance, organizational efficiency and budget preparation, forecasting, and monitoring. Analyzes financial data (historical and forecast), systems, procedures and operations; draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on the data, designs and implements improved systems, procedures and methods; and performs a variety of analytical and administrative tasks.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in
    Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the analysis of processes, procedures, operations, systems or methods, including experience in the functional area of assignment such as budget/financial management, research analysis or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Financial or Rate Modeling experience.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, Questica and other comparable systems.
  • Expertise in Government/municipal accounting, budgeting, and analysis experience.
  • Ability to streamline processes through the application and knowledge of lean principles.

The Management Analyst II job responsibilities include: 

  • Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
  • Gathering and analyzing data/statistics & determining trends
  • Coordination, development and monitoring of a $82.25 million Solid Waste Enterprise Budget
  • Reconciliation of Revenues
  • Year-end accruals and audit schedules
  • Oversee the administration of Grant of Privilege hauler program
  • Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; identifies resource needs; reviews with appropriate management staff; implements improvements; and prepares reports which present and interpret data collected and compiled.
  • Providing analytical support, administrative tasks, and organizational analysis for a variety of systems and procedures, including general collection contractor performance, individual driver performance, customer service issues (including missed collections, complaints, compliments, etc.), cart maintenance and repair, cart delivery and exchange requests, drop off station transportation contractor performance, waste diversion, division employee performance and more.
  • Creation and review of Mayor and Council communications, Informal Reports and presentations for work session and executive session.
