A Management Analyst II – Strategy & Performance job is available with the City of Fort FW Lab Department. The Fort Worth Lab Department at the City of Fort Worth is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent strategic and analytical skills to join our forward-thinking team. The selected candidate will assist with the city-wide performance measurement system, strategic planning initiatives, develop and administer various surveys, conduct complex studies, complete program evaluations and guide innovative practices across the organization.

This position supports and expands existing efforts to enhance the City’s major strategic performance and operational excellence efforts. Minimum Qualifications: 

  • A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration or a related field
  • Two (2) years of experience coordinating or leading performance management or measurement, process improvement, strategic planning, data analysis or organizational analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with performance measurement/strategic alignment software.
  • Government experience in managing performance measurement data, developing measures, and strategic alignment.
  • Experience with program evaluation and cross-departmental project facilitation.
  • Experience or training in human centered design and/or UX (user experience).

The Management Analyst II - Strategy & Performance job responsibilities include: 

  • Provide performance measurement expertise to leaders and employee to include training, mentoring and measure development.
  • Develop analytical reports and data visualizations to identify performance issues, recommend policy alternatives, and drive performance improvement.
  • Help manage preparation for and participate in regularly scheduled strategic plan and performance measurement reviews.
  • Provide administration of and train employees on the use of the City’s performance management software systems, including development of dashboards, charts and other reports.
  • Act as an internal consultant to provide support to departments and groups for strategic planning, process improvement and creative innovation efforts.
  • Design and develop methodologies and standard approaches to for studies to operational studies in areas such as organizational structure, function, process, staff utilization, feasibility of changes, and relationships among organizational units.
  • Maintains a standardized, data-driven process whereby innovative ideas and other changes are analyzed, summarized, and exported to other departments throughout the city.
  • Oversee the development, administration, analysis and reporting of various surveys as needed.
  • Lead and participate in ad-hoc committees, task forces, and other special projects as directed by City leadership.
  • Promote and be a participant in employee engagement efforts related to change and innovation, including efforts related to data strategy, comprehensive planning, national certification processes, and others.
